Percent of Respondents Teeth Cleaned by a Dentist or Dental Hygienist within the Past Year

Check out this map that shows the percent of people who responded indicating they got their teeth cleaned within the past year by a dentist or a dental hygienist for year 2006, 2008 and 2010. From the map we can see a smaller percent of respondents who had their teeth cleaned with the past year lived in the southern states indicated by the lighter shading. State such as as Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky mostly had a lower percent of respondents indicating they had their teeth cleaned with the past year. In contrast, some eastern and western states had a larger percent of respondents indicating they had their teeth cleaned with the past year, such as California, New York, Vermont, New Jersey indicated by the darker shades.
